Last weekend, the Sunshine Coast based Worldwide Taekwon-do hosted Grandmaster Hwang Kwang Sung 9th Dan who ran a seminar and black belt grading on the Sunshine Coast. 9th Dan is the highest achievement that a Taekwon-do practitioner can achieve and it shows their focus, dedication, skills, dedication and ultimate respect from their peers.
Today the 15th of June marks the 9th anniversery of the death of Taekwon-do's founder General Choi Hong Hi. General Choi's dedication to the art and science of Taekwon-do was renowned and he was responsible for creating the organisation and structure that allowed Taekwon-do to grow internationally through his visits and teachings.
About Worldwide Taekwon-do
Worldwide Taekwon-Do is an association of highly Qualified Instructors, and International Instructors, some who have personally trained under General Choi Hong Hi the late founder of Taekwon-Do.
Worldwide Taekwon-do Instructors are fully conversant with theory and practical aspects of the art and have devoted their lives to General Choi’s legacy and continue to hand down to the next generation the true techniques of the art as taught by the late founder.
About the Sunshine Coast class
8th Dan Master Jamie Moore of Worldwide Taekwon-do was privilidged to be a student of General Choi and continues his teaching at Buderim and Maroochydore with Master Vic Leighton 7th Dan. Said one student of the class "It is very rare to be taught by a master, you normally have some one at a 2nd to 4th Dan level. To be taught by one master is rare, but I never thought I would be taught by two, its unbelievable".
